TRENTON — Police were trying to figure out whom to charge with what last night after it was revealed that a 13-year-old boy may have received oral sex from a 12-year-old girl in an elementary school bathroom stall, and that the acts may have been directed and forced by a 10-year-old girl who joined them.

Trenton police spokesman Detective Sgt. Pedro Medina confirmed last night that an investigation was under way into what went on in a P.J. Hill elementary school bathroom yesterday afternoon.

Medina said the matter was still being sorted out by detectives well into the night, and that further details were not available, officially.

However, a police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the case involved a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, both viewed as suspects, and a 12-year-old girl seen as the victim.

According to the victim’s story, she went to the bathroom after asking her teacher if she could leave class to do so, the source said.

But once in the bathroom, the source said, the girl told police she was joined by a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

According to the older girl, the source said, the younger girl demanded that she perform oral sex on the boy. The victim told police the 10-year-old threatened her with violence if she didn’t comply.

At some point, the boy and the victim made their way into a bathroom stall, and the 10-year-old then slid underneath and joined them there too, the source said, with the 10-year-old again threatening violence if the older girl didn’t do what she was told.

The source said detectives are still trying to determine what physical acts may have taken place in the bathroom and the potential charges for each party.

The parents of all of the children were called to the school, the source said, and the mother of the 10-year-old ended up getting arrested at the school.

The source said the mother, her 10-year-old daughter, and a school guidance counselor were left alone to discuss the situation in a school office. But after hearing noises coming from inside, an officer present during the investigation opened the door to see what was going on.

The source said the officer saw the 10-year-old on the floor with the mother standing over her, beating her with a belt and demanding that she answer the allegations.

After witnessing the beating, police then took the mother into custody and charged her with endangering her daughter’s welfare.
